Biopsies (US guided, CT guided, Bone biopsies cerebral arteriogram)
A technique performed for visualizing blood vessels or organs by injecting a radio-opaque contrast agent into the blood vessel and using X-ray based techniques as fluoroscopy.
A catheter tip is advanced into the artery in the liver that supplies blood to the tumor. Chemotherapy is sent through the catheter into the tumor, mixed with a material that embolizes the flow of blood to the cancer tissue.
A minimally invasive treatment that uses extreme cold to freeze and destroy diseased tissue, including cancer cells.
Endoleak Repair / EVLT (Endovenous Laser Treatment)
A thin laser fiber is inserted into the diseased vein, generally through a small puncture in the leg above where the visual symptoms appear. Laser energy is delivered through the fiber which causes the vein to close as the fiber is gradually removed. These are performed in an office setting.
Isolated Limb Infusions
A catheter-based surgical technique delivering high doses of chemotherapy used to control advanced melanoma or soft tissue sarcoma of the extremity.
IVC Filter Placement
Are indicated for: failure of anticoagulation, contraindications to anticoagulation, and patients with high risk pulmonary embolism.
Neurointervention – Neuroembolization stent/coil/gluing
Stent assisted coiling is a minimally non-invasive procedure that involves placing a stent inside of a wide neck aneurysm to anchor tiny, platinum coils that protect damaged blood vessel walls.
Prostate tumor markers / RFA
A minimally invasive treatment for cancer that uses an image guided technique to guide a needle electrode into a cancerous tumor. High frequency electrical currents are then passed through the electrode, creating heat that destroys the abnormal cells.
SIRS – Sphere (Selective Internal Radiation Therapy)
A targeted treatment for liver tumors that delivers millions of tiny radioactive beads directly to liver tumors.
A minimally invasive procedure that blocks the blood supply to the fibroids, causing them to shrink.
Vertebroplasty / Kyphoplasty
Minimally invasive procedures for vertebral compression fractures.
